Abrams' Tower - reviews & comments

Frommer's Eastern Europe:

One of the most unusual restaurants you'll see, and worth a visit for that reason alone: a "Mexican-Fusion" restaurant with the city's best burritos and fajitas occupying the derelict tower of one of the city's medieval defense bastions...Both the Mexican and Asian-inflected dishes like Thai curry are excellent and good value.

guardian.co.uk:

It's a completely unique experience, like entering another world that the mass of visitors are unaware of in flocking to the highly commercialized center market square known as Rynek...one of the most relaxing and romantic places in the city, perfect as well for business meetings and it's one of the only non-smoking restaurants in Wroclaw.

WITOLD'S LIST: Abrams' Tower Rules - Thai night at Abrams' Tower in Wroclaw

Outstanding culinary experience in Wroclaw's XIII century only remaining city fortification - red curry, duck salad, tom yum soup and baked bananas with I scream for ice cream.

The Rough Guide to Poland:

Excellent authentic Tex-Mex and fusion dishes and good wines served in a medieval city wall tower by a California artist.

www.ILovePoland.co.uk (from when Abrams' Tower was formerly known as "La luz"):

One of the ten best restaurants in Wroclaw.

In Your Pocket Magazine - International Restaurants:

The best Mexican food in the city (and that's by a landslide) remains, now ramparted by an inventive menu of 'Global Pierogi' (blue cheese pierogi with orange sauce, anyone?) and fusion-inspired 'Global Tapas'...to complement the New and Old World wines of the romantic first floor wine bar and shop...Though an adventure to locate, Abrams' Tower continues to be a trip worth making."

In Your Pocket Magazine - Bars:

...a fantastic space set over three levels. In addition to the first-rate fusion and tex-mex kitchen, choose from a knock-out wine list, exclusive Czech OPAT beer, Ciechan microbrews and Guinness in a supremely lazy atmosphere ideal for budding romance.

From Alex Webber, Editor-in-Chief, InYourPocket Magazine:

I had a great meal - especially considering it was takeaway...I'd also like to say I think the girl serving me was an absolute star; fantastic service is still too rare on my travels, so it does really stand out when faced with such a genuine welcome.

www.Wroclaw-Life.com - Restaurants:

...(a) one-of-a-kind restaurant in Wroclaw. In this 13th century guard tower, guests can sample some of the most delicious food in the city courtesy of a two-fold menu. One thread of the menu is an extension of the excellent Mexican cuisine served in Abrams' Tower's former incarnation as La Luz. Lip-smacking vegetarian burritos and chicken fajitas are served with the only genuine salsa sauces in Silesia. The second thread of the menu is an intriguing blend of ethnic cuisines.

www.Wroclaw-Life.com - Bars:

In a city full of charismatic drinking dens, Abrams' Tower is possibly the most enigmatic of all. As the name hints at, the action takes place over three levels in a 13th century fortification which once guarded the city...a sophisticated yet comfortable space, perfect for sampling [a} fine range of wines. If the grapes of Dionysus are not your favourite pleasure (shame on you), then the staff at Abrams' also mix a mean mojito and other cocktails.

From Donna Gilles, Sales Manager, Azzurri Telecommuications LTD, Glasgow:

Thank you very much for your kind hospitality...I would personally like to thank all at Abrams' Tower for making our trip to Wroclaw very special and for helping take the stress away from organising a meal for 22 people.
